Van killed in Gopalganj road accident

A van driver was killed after being hit by a passenger bus in Kashiani upazila of Gopalganj on Sunday morning.

The dead Suken Bar, 32, son of Jiten Bar, was a resident of Mahmudpur area in Kashiani upazila.

Confirming the accident, Vatiapara Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Maksur Rahman Murad Hossain said the accident occurred around 10:00 am at Pona bus stand on the Dhaka-Khulna highway.


He said Suken was crossing the road when a Dhaka-bound Sohag Paribahan passenger bus coming from Khulna ran over him. He was critically injured and taken to Kashiani Upazila Health Complex where doctors declared him dead.

Police have taken necessary steps regarding the matter.
