Superintendent Cup Tennis Tournament Kicks Off in Manikganj

kamrul hasan: The much-anticipated Superintendent Cup Tennis Tournament has begun in Manikganj. On Friday evening (20 September), the tournament was inaugurated at the Manikganj Tennis Club premises by Superintendent of Police and President of the Tennis Club, Mosammat Yasmin Khatun.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of Additional Superintendent of Police Abdullah Al Mamun (Sadar Circle), Additional Superintendent of Police Mohammad Salauddin (Manikganj Sadar Circle), Additional Superintendent of Police Sadia Sabrina Chowdhury (Shibaloy Circle), Senior Assistant Judge Fardin Mustakim Tasin, and Senior Assistant Superintendent of Police Fahim Asjad (Singair Circle). Also present were General Secretary of the Tennis Club Tanzilur Fargani Tanju, President of Manikganj Press Club Jahangir Alam Biswas, along with other members of the Tennis Club and local sports enthusiasts.

In the opening match, the Jahid-Akbar pair made a strong start by defeating the Dolon-Kamrul pair.

According to the organizers, a total of eight pairs are participating in this tournament organized by the Tennis Club. The competition will continue over multiple days, gradually determining the best players and pairs.

Sports enthusiasts expressed hope that such tournaments will not only popularize tennis in Manikganj but also inspire the younger generation to engage more actively in sports.
