Kamrul Hasan: S.A. Jinnah Kabir, Member of the BNP Central Executive Committee, former General Secretary and senior member of the Manikganj District BNP Convening Committee, and nomination aspirant for Manikganj-1 constituency, has said that Bangladesh has been freed from autocracy under the prudent leadership and guidance of BNP’s Acting Chairman, Deshnayak Tarique Rahman.
He said, “To protect independence and democracy, resolve the ongoing crises, and uphold religious harmony, everyone must play their part for the welfare of the nation. To establish the people’s rights and build a developed nation, the victory of the Sheaf of Paddy is essential. There is no alternative to the BNP in building a prosperous and developed Bangladesh.”
He made these remarks on Friday afternoon while addressing a campaign and exchange meeting on Deshnayak Tarique Rahman’s 31-point program for restructuring the state, organized by Ward No. 2 and 3 BNP units and affiliated organizations under Kalia Union of Daulatpur Upazila in Manikganj.
The meeting was presided over by Union BNP President Advocate Bulbul Ahmed Golap. Among others present were Upazila BNP President Sirajul Islam, General Secretary Anisur Rahman, Joint Secretary Habibullah Nomani, Ghior Upazila BNP President Mir Manikuzzaman Manik, District Krishak Dal Senior Vice President Masudur Rahman Masud, former Joint Convener of District Swechchhasebak Dal Masud Biswas, Senior Joint Convener Kazi Nadim Hossain Tuel, Joint Convener Roni Bhandari, District Chhatra Dal Senior Joint General Secretary Zahidul Islam Jihad, Organizational Secretary Shakib Khan Ayon, along with leaders from district, upazila, union, and ward levels of the BNP and its associate bodies.
Jinnah Kabir said, “A certain quarter is conspiring in various ways to foil the 13th National Parliamentary Election. Some are trying to question its credibility, while others are attempting to delay the election with the help of foreign masters. But the people of this country are united, and no conspiracy will succeed.”
He further said, “The people of Bangladesh have long been waiting for a free, fair, and impartial election. Through that election, we aim to establish a people’s government. No power can derail this election — only the people will decide who will rule.”
Accusing a few newly formed parties of trying to create unrest in the country with foreign backing, he asserted that the people of Bangladesh would never accept such conspiracies.
Cautioning party leaders and workers, Jinnah Kabir said, “No one will be allowed to misuse power or oppress ordinary citizens. If anyone is found guilty of wrongdoing, organizational and legal action will be taken.”
He added, “The BNP is a party of the people. Therefore, solving people’s problems must be our top priority. Those who treat the people’s problems as their own are the ones we need — those who don’t have no place in our party.”
Calling for further strengthening of the organizational structure, Jinnah Kabir urged all to work toward implementing Deshnayak Tarique Rahman’s 31-point reform program and ensuring the victory of the Sheaf of Paddy in every constituency of Manikganj — historically known as a BNP stronghold.
The event concluded with special prayers seeking the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, the good health and long life of Deshnayak Tarique Rahman, and the welfare of the nation.
