Kamrul Hasan: The Acting Chairman of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), Deshnayak Tarique Rahman, through his farsighted leadership and guidance, has helped the nation move toward freedom from crisis. In continuation of this progress, S.A. Jinnah Kabir — a member of the BNP Central Executive Committee, former General Secretary of the Manikganj District BNP, current member of the District BNP Convening Committee, and the Paddy Sheaf candidate for Manikganj-1 constituency — has urged all to forget divisions and work together to secure victory for the symbol of independence, the Paddy Sheaf.

In an exclusive interview with The Muslim Times on Monday night, Jinnah Kabir made this call to party leaders, activists, supporters, general voters, and local residents.

S.A. Jinnah Kabir said that the interim government has already completed all preparations for the upcoming national election scheduled for the first half of February 26. However, a certain quarter is conspiring to disrupt the election process — a move he described as harmful to the nation. He emphasized that there is no alternative to unity in resisting these anti-national forces.

He further stated that the BNP is committed to establishing the fundamental rights of the people. The party does not believe in revenge or flattery, but in development. He added that Tarique Rahman is the only alternative for building a society based on religious harmony and free from discrimination.

“For this very reason, the martyred President Ziaur Rahman founded the BNP to realize the rights of the people,” he said, urging everyone to uphold that ideal and build a united public opinion for the welfare of the nation.

S.A. Jinnah Kabir also noted that to preserve the political significance of Manikganj — known as a stronghold of the BNP — it is essential to ensure the victory of the Paddy Sheaf by implementing Tarique Rahman’s 31-point state reform plan. “Only then will Deshnayak Tarique Rahman become the Prime Minister,” he said, adding that once he assumes that role, the overall development of the country and the realization of the dreams of martyred President Ziaur Rahman will become possible.

He concluded by seeking everyone’s prayers for the speedy recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and for the good health and long life of Deshnayak Tarique Rahman.
