Kamalul Hasan: Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Habu, former Organizing Secretary of Manikganj District BNP and a member of the party’s convening committee, said that BNP’s Acting Chairman and national leader Tarique Rahman is the only capable leader to build a prosperous and developed Bangladesh. Therefore, the implementation of Tarique Rahman’s 31-point plan for state structure reform is essential. He made these remarks on Friday (October 17) afternoon while addressing party activists, supporters, general voters, and local residents during a leaflet distribution campaign, mass communication drive, and street meetings in various areas including Dashra, Borobazar, Boalia, and Kachari Math of the town. The campaign was conducted in support of District BNP Convener Afroza Khanam Rita and in line with the 31-point reform agenda declared by Tarique Rahman. Senior leaders of BNP and its associated organizations were present on the occasion. He said, “It was due to the foresight of national leader Tarique Rahman that the autocratic regime fell in the face of the mass movement led by BNP, students, and the people, marking the dawn of a new Bangladesh free from fascism. A united populace can play a vital role in implementing all the declared programs. Therefore, inspired by the ideals of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, we must continue the country’s progress and development.” He further stated that to fulfill the people’s long-awaited aspirations over the past 17 years, the interim government has decided to hold the national election in the first half of February 2026. However, a certain vested group is attempting to sabotage the election process in the name of the PR system. “Such forces can never ensure the welfare of the nation,” he said, urging everyone to build a united public opinion against these destructive elements. Rafiquddin Bhuiyan Habu advised party supporters and leaders of its front organizations to play an active role in ensuring the victory of the sheaf of paddy (BNP’s election symbol). He also emphasized the active participation of women alongside men in this effort. He concluded by praying for the good health and long life of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and for the recovery and longevity of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahm
