Gazipur Correspondent: A discussion meeting, Milad and Doa Mahfil were held to mark the second death anniversary of Shahjahan Siraj Saju, sub-editor of Dainik Janakantha, editor-in-chief of the weekly Agnisakshi newspaper and former president of the Tongi Press Club.
The Journalist Development Center organized this event on Thursday, November 6, after Maghrib, at the Shuchi Pathachak and Library hall room in Tongi, Gazipur. Under the chairmanship of the President of the Journalists Development Center, Alidur Rahman Oli, and the direction of the General Secretary, Shahjahan Shobon, the memorial speeches on the life and work of Shahjahan Siraj Saju were delivered by former President of Tongi Press Club SM Nurul Islam, former President Syed Atiq, General Secretary of Journalists Union Gazipur Muhammad Hedayet Ullah, Cultural Organization Shekanul Islam Shahi, Mofussal Editor of the Daily Nowroz newspaper Mansur Ahmed, General Secretary of Tongi Press Club Mahbub Chowdhury, Headmaster of Kaderia Textile Mills Ardash High School Ziarul Haque, President of Tongi Report Club Pirzada Noab Ali, General Secretary Sheikh Kamrul Hasan Saha, Organizing Secretary Ashiqur Rahman, Theater Director Aziz Tipu, Citizens for Good Governance Sujon Gazipur Metropolitan Council Chairman Monirul Islam Rajib, Poet Shahin Kawsar, Poet Atiq Shahriar, Poet Fuad Sarkar, Actor Rafizul Islam, brother Hasan Al Mamunur Rashid, son Sohan, etc. on behalf of the deceased`s family. Journalist Shahjahan Siraj highlighted various aspects of Saju`s professional life and personal life in his memoirs. He was a true friend of Tongi journalists in the 80s and 90s. He was always smiling and a very friendly person.
