In the operation of Ukhia Range of Cox`s Bazar South Forest Department, illegally constructed barbed wire fence, fence and pillars were demolished. At that time 5 bundles of thorns were seized. In this way, about 4 acres of land has been rescued from the hands of government resources land grabbers. However, the pirates could not arrest anyone. At 3 pm on January 18 (Friday) at Rafik in Ghori under Ukhia Range, Range Officer Gazi Shafiul Alam, in collaboration with BIT officials, illegally erected a pillar and cut the wire fence. He said there would be no place for pirates. We will crack down on those who are forcibly occupying the lands of the forest department. After receiving the news of illegal construction on the land of the forest department, 4 acres of land has been recovered. A team of 25 people including Headman, Villagers and staff of BIT Officer Wala, Dochhari, Ukhia Ghat and Thainkhali BT took part in the operation. Range officer Gazi Shafiul Alam said preparations were underway to take legal action against those involved. Md. Humayun Kabir, Divisional Forest Officer, Cox`s Bazar South Forest Department, said that the forest department is trying to recover the government forest land. If anyone builds a facility on government land, it will be evicted and I will play a vital role in protecting the forest by conducting a campaign against the occupiers. The campaign will be carried out to bring the land under the law of forcible occupation and hill people. He called for cooperation in suppressing forest crime with information.
