Awami League candidate won the mayoral post in Mongla Port municipality

Bir Muktijoddha Sheikh Abdur Rahman, the mayoral candidate of Awami League`s boat symbol in the election of MonglaPortMunicipality has been elected unofficially with 12,125 votes. His closest rival candidate was elected with the sheaf of rice. Zulfiqar Ali got 592 votes. For the first time in this municipality, voting was held by EVM system.

However, the BNP`s mayoral candidate Md. Zulfiqar Ali. BNP mayoral candidate Zulfiqar made the announcement at around 12 noon on Saturday. However, Awami League nominee Abdur Rahman has been denying the allegations of the BNP candidate.

Bagerhat District Election Officer Monglaport Municipality Returning Officer Faraji Benazir Ahmed said in the evening that Awami League candidate Sheikh Abdur Rahman was elected privately in MonglaPortMunicipality with 12,125 votes. His closest rival is the BNP candidate. Zulfiqar Ali got 592 votes for each sheaf of paddy.

Besides, Kabir Hossain, Shariful Islam, Bahadur Mia, Shafiqur Rahman, Shariful Islam, GM Al Amin, Humayun Hamid Nasir, Sarwar Hossain and Majnu Gazi of Awami League have been elected as general councilors and Jahanara Chanu, Johra Begum and Shiuli Akon have been elected as reserved women councilors. Done. The total number of male and female voters in MonglaPortMunicipality was 31,526.
