Pori Moni alleges rape, murder attempt
  Date : 26-04-2024

Online Desk: Bangladeshi actress and model Pori Moni has brought an allegation of rape and murder attempt on her and sought justice for her to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

The actress, featured on Asia`s 100 Digital Stars released by Forbes magazine on 7 December 2020, made the allegation in a post on her verified Facebook page around 8pm on Sunday.

She wrote, "To, Honourable Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. I am Pori Moni. ................... I have been physically assaulted. An attempt has been taken to rape and kill me. I want justice."

In the post, the actress said she went to many people and places, including the police station, and IGP Benazir Ahmed, in the last four days but none assured her of justice.

Calling PM Hasina her mother, she wrote, "Now, I need you (Sheikh Hasina) to survive myself. I want to survive. Save me, mother."

But the actress did not mention who took the attempt to violate and murder her, and tortured her.

Asked about the Facebook status, police headquarters assistant inspector general (AIG-media and public relations) Md Sohel Rana told the actress must get justice. But he does not understand why she mentioned IGP in her post.
