86 entities fined for selling potato, onion, egg at higher prices

MT Desk : The Directorate of National Consumer Rights Protection (DNCRP) has fined 86 business entities across the country for selling potatoes, onions, eggs and salaines at higher prices than that fixed by the government.

Thirty two teams of the consumer rights directorate conducted raids at 39 bazaars in all division and district levels, including Dhaka city, on Saturday and fined the entities around Tk 2.32 lakh.

Earlier on Thursday, the government fixed retail prices of potatoes at Tk 35 to Tk 36 per kg, onions at Tk 64 to Tk 65 a kg and eggs at Tk 12 per piece amid an increase in prices of the items.
