Premier Div Hockey: Holders Mariner Youngs Club manage hard-fought 4-3 victory over Ajax SC

Online Desk : Coming from behind, defending champions Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club managed a hard-fought victory with 4-3 goals over Ajax SC in the 11-team Green Delta Insurance Premier Division Hockey League at the Moulana Bhasani National Hockey Stadium on Wednesday.

With the day`s feat, Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club earned the 4th consecutive victory in the league after suffering a shocking 1-5 goals defeat against Usha KC in the league opener, UNB reports.

Mariner Youngs Club strongly came back in the league race crushing Azad SC by 13-2 goals in the 2nd match, piled up a massive 18-1 goals victory over Dilkusha SC in the 3rd match, another huge 11-2 goals win over Victoria SC in the 4th match, apart from day`s 4-3 victory over Ajax SC.

In the day`s match, Moinul Islam Koushik, Indian Ajoy Yadav, Deepok and local star defender Shohanur Rahman Sabuj scored one goal each for the Mariner Youngs Club.


Rakibul Hasan struck twice and Indian recruit Lesham scored the other goal for Ajax SC.

In the day`s other league match, Azad SC outplayed Dilkusha SC by 5-2 goals at the same venue Wednesday afternoon.
