Online Desk : Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah Al Mamun has warned that strict action will be taken if passengers are charged extra fare on public transport during the Eid journey.

He made the warning in a program at Rajarbag Police Lines Jame Masjid in Dhaka on Friday.

He urged the passengers to dial the national emergency number 999 or get help by calling at the police station concerned if anyone tries to charge extra fare.

To make the Eid journey safe and risk free, different units of the police, including naval, railway, tourist, highway, and district, are taking preparations, the IGP said.
