14 platoons Ansar deployed in Dhaka

A total of 14 platoons of Ansar have been deployed in the capital to maintain law and order amid the student demonstrations.

Ansar and Village Defense Force Assistant Director (VDP Training) and Public Relations Officer Mohammad Rubel Hossain confirmed the matter on Wednesday afternoon.

He said around 14 platoons of Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Forces, consisting of both male and 40 female members, have been deployed in Dhaka metropolis to manage the current situation.


Earlier, to manage the unrest sparked by the quota reform protests, BGB was deployed at Dhaka University and in six other districts: Chattogram, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Bogura, Faridpur, and Cox`s Bazar.
