  Date : 16-01-2025

Online Report : The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has decided to keep the value-added tax (VAT) rate on restaurants at 5 per cent, which was the previous rate.

The NBR will issue an order in this regard on Thursday (January 16).

The NBR on Wednesday conveyed this decision to the Bangladesh Restaurant Owners Association in a letter, signed by Mashiur Rahman, the first secretary of NBR’s Value Added Tax division.

Earlier, the association had sent a letter to the NBR requesting a reduction in VAT.
