Govt to procure 2 cargoes LNG, 25000 MTs fertiliser

Online Report : The government today approved separate proposals for procuring two cargoes of LNG and 25,000 metric tons of fertilizer to meet the country’s growing demand.

The approvals came from the 18th meeting of the Advisers Council Committee on Government Purchase (ACCGP) in this year held today at the Cabinet Division Conference Room at Bangladesh Secretariat with Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed in the chair.

The day’s meeting approved a total of 10 proposals.

Following a proposal from the Energy and Mineral Resources Division, the Petrobangla would procure one cargo LNG from M/S Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore from the spot market under international quotation method with around Taka 549.09 crore.

The Petrobangla, following another proposal, would procure another cargo LNG from M/S Vitol Asia Pte Ltd, Singapore from the spot market under international quotation method with around Taka 555.32 crore.

In response to a proposal from the Ministry of Agriculture, the Bangladesh Agricultural Development Corporation (BADC) would procure some 25,000 metric tons of TSP fertilizer from Groupe Chimique Tunisien (GCT), Tunisia under state-level agreement with around Taka 156.69 crore costing per ton at $513.75.
