Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has emphasised the importance of entrepreneurship, saying people were not born to work for others but to create their own ventures.
“Humans are not meant to take jobs. We are born to be entrepreneurs,” he said on Sunday (Sept 14) while inaugurating the second building of the Palli Karma-Sahayak Foundation (PKSF) on Khilji Road in Dhaka’s Mohammadpur area.
Highlighting the opportunities created by technology, Dr. Yunus said it had connected people globally and opened new possibilities for economic participation.
Calling for PKSF to expand its operations, he remarked, “Our journey is long, but our preparations are strong. Bangladesh’s groundwork for poverty alleviation is perhaps unmatched anywhere. We started at the grassroots, working directly with people, and significant progress has been made through collective effort.”
He urged stakeholders to scale up initiatives and build a system that empowers people to become entrepreneurs.
“Now is the time to grow on a large scale — and it is possible. There should be no shortage of funds, because we have everyone’s trust. If we build the economic system in this way, we can truly turn people into entrepreneurs,” the CA added.
Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed, PKSF Chairman Zakir Ahmed Khan, and senior government officials were also present at the event.
