Staff Correspondent: Like the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) division, the Bangladesh Digital Education Society (BDES) and the Bangladesh Freelancer Development Society (BFDS) have organised the ‘Digital Bangladesh Day 2020’ at premium lounge auditorium of Mirpur on Saturday. Vice chancellor of Canadian University of Bangladesh Dr. Mohammad Mahfuzul Islam, former chairman of national Skill Development Authority Faroque Hossain, chairman of Better Bangladesh Professor Masud A Khan, editor of The South Asian Times Deepak Kumar Acharjee, Chairman of Jholok Foundation Dr Zahid Chowdhury Bipul, chairman of BDES Jashim Uddin Joy, chairman of BFDS, Dr. Tanjiba Rahman and professor of Islamic University Dr. M Abu Jafor have addressed at the function marking the day.

Earlier on 12 December 2017, the day was observed as National Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Day.

On 26 November last year, the cabinet renamed the day as ‘Digital Bangladesh Day’.
