Alif Paribahan bus torches in Savar, driver sustains injuries

Miscreants torched a bus of Alif Paribahan in Savar`s Ashulia early Wednesday.

Later, they fired some blank shots and fled the scene.

Getting a phone call around 5:45AM, a team from DEPZ Fire Service brought the blaze under control, but 80 per cent of the vehicle was burnt down before arrival of the fire fighters.


The bus was parked near Women and Children Hospital in Ashulia, police informed.

At 9AM, DEPZ Fire Service Senior Station Officer Pranab Chowdhury confirmed the fire news.

Bus driver Sattar said, ``I was sleeping inside the bus. Suddenly, I saw fire and jumped from the window and saw that four people were standing there with two bikes. Hearing my cry for help, they left the place firing blank shots. Some of my body parts suffered injuries when I jumped.``
