SAARC Journalist Forum President Meets UN CEPA Vice Chairman in New York

MT, New York: Raju Lama, International President of the SAARC Journalist Forum (SJF), held a bilateral meeting with Rolf Alter, Vice Chairman of the United Nations Committee of Experts on Public Administration (CEPA), on the sidelines of the 25th CEPA session at UN Headquarters.

The discussion centered on enhancing public administration systems, strengthening governance frameworks, and advancing institutional reforms in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Both leaders underscored the critical role of media in fostering transparency, accountability, and trust in public institutions. Lama emphasized the responsibility of journalists in bridging the gap between governments and citizens through ethical and independent reporting.

Rolf Alter highlighted the importance of innovation in governance and the need for inclusive, multi-stakeholder dialogue to effectively respond to complex global challenges.

The engagement reflects the broader objectives of the CEPA session, which convenes global experts and policymakers to promote effective governance and institutional resilience.
