Actor Dilu Majumdar passes away

Actor and member of Aranyak Natyadal, a prominent theatre group, and Actors’ Equity Bangladesh, Dilu Majumdar has passed away.

He died while undergoing treatment at Kurmitola General Hospital in the capital around 8:00 pm on Wednesday (May 20), after suffering a heart attack.

According to family sources, he was rushed to the hospital after suddenly falling ill. Attending doctors later declared him dead.

Throughout his long-acting career, he performed in numerous stage and television dramas. He earned a distinct reputation among audiences for his dedication to acting and natural performance style.

In particular, his performances in various productions of Aranyak were widely appreciated.

His death has cast a shadow of grief over the theatre community. Fellow artists, directors, and cultural activists have expressed their condolences on social media. Actors’ Equity Bangladesh has also expressed deep sorrow over his passing.
