Campus Correspondent: The Annual General Meeting of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University Teachers `Association and Teachers` Evening was held on 30th December at 4:30 pm at Begum Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the University.  After the ceremony started by flying balloons and lanterns, the teachers and about five hundred members of their families enjoyed the cake festival.  Later in the evening, the Sufia Kamal Auditorium of the University and its surroundings were lit up with captivating fireworks.  For the first time, BSMRAU-TA Award 2020 was given to four researchers in four categories including professors, associate professors, assistant professors and lecturers for their unique contribution in basic research.  Teachers Association Publicity and Publication Secretary Md. Shamim Hossain Noman told The Muslim Times that this year`s BSMRAU-TA award has been received by Prof. Dr.  Umakanta Sarkar, Associate Professor of Fisheries Biology and Aquatic Environment.  Md. Sakhawat Hossain, Assistant Professor of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Reproductive Health,  Md. Nazmul Haque and Sandeep Mitra, Lecturer, Department of Agricultural Finance and Cooperatives.

After that, 16 honorary teachers from the time of establishment of the university till now were given honorary certificates by the association.

Honors are also given to the teachers of this university who have been appointed by the Government of the People`s Republic of Bangladesh as Vice-Chancellors and Pro-Vice-Chancellors / Treasurers of various public universities.

Honorable Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Dr. Md. Ghiyasuddin Mia was present as the chief guest at the event. The ceremony was presided over by the President of the BSMRAU Teachers Association, Prof.  Md. Tofazzal Islam and the general secretary of the teachers` association  Md. Arifur Rahman Khan conducted the program.

In addition to the Vice Chancellor and Treasurer of BSMRAU,  the Vice Chancellor of HSTU Prof.  M Kamruzzaman, Pro-Vice Chancellor of MBSTU (Acting Vice Chancellor) Prof.  ARM Solomon were present in the event.

The event ended with a pleasant cultural program and dinner.
