MT Desk: The IQAC and School of Engineering, University of Asia Pacific (UAP) organized a two day special seminar session on “OBE Implementation and BAETE Accreditation in Engineering Programs:  Expectations, Practices and Processes” on 27th July & 03rd August, 2023 at the UAP Auditorium.

Professor Dr. Qumrul Ahsan, Vice Chancellor, UAP chaired the entire seminar while Professor Dr. Muhammed Alamgir, Member, University Grants Commission joined the inaugural session and Professor Dr. Mesbahuddin Ahmed, Chairman, Bangladesh Accreditation Council joined the closing session as Chief Guests.

Professor Dr. Muhammad Fazli Ilahi, Vice Chancellor, Ahsanullah University of Science & Technology; Professor Dr. M. M. Shahidul Hassan, Vice Chancellor, East West University; Dr. Mohammed Alauddin, Chairperson, Board of Trustees, UAP; Professor Dr. A.F.M. Saiful Amin, Chairman, Board of Accreditation for Engineering and Technical Education joined the program as special guest.

Prof. Dr. Md. Sultan Mahmud, Pro Vice Chancellor, UAP; Professor Dr. Muhammad Mizanur Rahaman, Dean, School of Engineering, UAP; Prof. Dr. Aloke Kumar Saha, Director, IQAC; Dr. Nehreen Majed, Professor and Head, Dept. of Civil Engineering; Dr. G. R. Ahmed Jamal, Associate Professor and Head, Dept. of EEE; Dr. Shah Murtaza Rashid Al Masud, Associate Professor & Head, Dept. of CSE delivered their speeches during the program.

During the seminar sessions- Professor Dr. A.F.M. Saiful Amin, Chairman, BAETE discussed on ‘Background of Washington Accord and Accreditation Requirements’.

Professor Dr. Arshad M. Chowdhury, Vice Chairman, Quality Assurance Committee, BAETE discussed on ‘Assessment and Attainment of Outcomes’. Professor Dr. Anisul Haque, Board Member, BAETE discussed on ‘Teaching Learning and Assessment in the Affective Domain’.

Professor Dr. Kazi Bayzid Kabir, Member Secretary, BAETE discussed the ‘Official Administrative Process of Accreditation’. Professor Dr. Salekul Islam, Evaluator Assessment Committee Chair, BAETE discussed on ‘Preparation for BAETE Accreditation’. Professor Dr. Md. Tarek Uddin, Sectoral Committee Chair, BAETE discussed on ‘Preparation of Self-Assessment Report (SAR)’.

The objective of this seminar is to increase the exposure and visibility of UAP with the accreditation authority and pioneering programs.

Among others, all the deans heads of other departments of UAP, Directors of IQAC of different Public and Private Universities, IAP members & Alumnus of all engineering departments, all the faculty members of the School of Engineering, UAP; and officials of IQAC joined the seminar.
