Liakut, Rajshahi: Arif Ahmed Chowdhury has taken charge as the new acting registrar of Rajshahi University of Engineering and Technology (RUET). Arif Ahmed Chowdhury took over as acting registrar from the previous acting registrar Prof. Dr. Md. Salim Hossain on Saturday morning. On the occasion of his assumption of responsibility, a discussion meeting was held with the department and sections heads in the conference room of the university. Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dr. Md. Jahangir Alam speaking as the chief guest at the event. VC said that officials should play a leading role in making RUET the first smart university in the country. Arif Ahmed Chowdhury while assuming responsibility as the new acting registrar requested the sincere cooperation of all the teachers, officers and employees and said that under the guidance and leadership of the newly appointed vice-chancellor, I’ll perform my duties faithfully to maintain the all-round development and progress of RUET.

It is to be noted that when the previous acting registrar of RUET Prof. Dr. Md. Salim Hossain requested to be relieved, the university authorities appointed additional registrar Arif Ahmed Chowdhury as an acting registrar by issuing an office order on August 27.

Arif Ahmad Chowdhury was appointed as Assistant Registrar in this university on 25 June 2002. Later he was appointed as Sub-Registrar and Additional Registrar and served with great success. Prior to joining RUET, he served as Upazila Secondary Education Officer from 1995 to June 24, 2002.
