Hasan Rubel: Residents of Kazi Bari in Solmaid East Ward of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) Ward No. 40 under Bhatara Police Station are suffering from the bad condition of sewage lines and mosquitoes. As this ward is new, the residents have been suffering for the past ten years as there has not been much development in the area. Locals have demanded to solve this problem quickly.

Talking to the local residents, it is known that due to the non-renovation of sewerage lines, the roads are flooded with dirty water in addition to monsoons. As a result, the roads for the residents of Kazi Bari in the Solmaid East neighborhood are becoming a death trap. At present some streets and places are becoming unsafe for the public to live in. Besides, the number of dengue patients in the area is also increasing day by day due to not providing proper mosquito repellent. Especially due to the poor condition of road drains, dengue is spreading from there. In such a situation, as there was no cooperation from the city corporation, the locals took the initiative to repair the sewage line with their own funds. Local councilor Nazrul Islam Dali has already been informed about this in writing. Local residents Azhar Uddin, Md. Delwar Hossain, Khandaker Ali Akbar and Md. Sayem Md. Jewel and many others have signed it. In addition, after requesting the local councilor Nazrul Islam Dali several times to solve this problem, the councilor promised to do the work first if the next budget is passed. Locals said that since the sewage line has not been renovated for a long time, the dirty water from the drain is rising on the road and creating mud. In this, the local Muslims have to suffer a lot in going to and from the mosque. Besides, students have to face extreme hardships to go to schools, colleges, and madrasas. As a result, they urgently appealed to the local councilors and related authorities of the government to solve this problem quickly.
