No mention in the Holy Quran & Sahih Hadith about running the state according to the Medina Charter: Saeed Khokon
30, November, 2020, 11:44:21:PM

Press Release: Some scholars are talking recently about running the country according to the Medina Charter. But nowhere in the Holy Qur`an and Hadith is there any mention of running the state according to this sanad. Bangladesh is running according to its own constitution of 1972. Even then, if the scholars have any statement, they can sit in discussion with the government. But if anarchy is created in the name of Medina Charter, the answer will be given on the streets.

Mohammad Saeed Khokon, the first elected mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation and central leader of Awami League, on Monday afternoon, November 30, at the auditorium of Institution of Diploma Engineers, Bangladesh (IDEB) organized by Mayor Mohammad Hanif Memorial Foundation. He said this while addressing a civic remembrance meeting and prayer meeting on the occasion.

Saeed Khokon said that at present, the extremist communal forces are trying to quarrel with each other. They have started religion business in the name of Islam. But they have no worries about how the government has kept the country`s economy afloat in this Corona epidemic.

"My late father, your beloved leader Mohammad Hanif, was a devout and devout Muslim," he added. Devotion to religion is one of the characteristics of his character. At the same time he had a fiercely anti-sectarian attitude and was always vocal against this force. Today we see the handful of violent communal forces. I grew up following his example. Mayor Mohammad Hanif has shown us that in order to deal with extremist communal forces, if there is any anarchy in the name of religion, regardless of religion, caste or creed, it will be prevented with the people of the country under the direction of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.

He further said that if he tries to make the highways of Dhaka bloody, if necessary, if the leader gives instructions, the people`s stage will be formed again. To put it bluntly, if the hyenas try to claw, I say, the people of Bangladesh are religious. The people of Bangladesh are fans of religion, but not blind to religion. So you will not go astray.

The commemoration meeting was presided over by Omar Ali, Vice-Chairman of Mayor Mohammad Hanif Memorial Foundation and senior leader of Undivided Dhaka Metropolitan Awami League. Former general secretary of Dhaka Metropolitan South Awami League Shah Alam Murad, former councilor of undivided Dhaka City Corporation Kamal Chowdhury, councilor of ward no. 75 of Dhaka South Md. Samsuddin Bhuiyan, AK Azad and others spoke. Maulana Mansurul Haque, a prominent scholar, former muhaddith of Saudi Arabia and Khatib of Ahle Hadith Jame Mosque in Baridah, led the prayers.
