Unity of Public Opinion Essential to Ensure Victory for the Sheaf of Paddy : Afroza Khanam Rita

Kamrul Hasan : Afroza Khanam Rita, Member of the BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council, Convener of the Manikganj District BNP, and nominated candidate for Manikganj-3 constituency from the BNP symbol Sheaf of Paddy, has called for building united public opinion to ensure victory for the Sheaf of Paddy in the upcoming national election. She emphasized that through the implementation of the 31-point reform agenda for repairing the state structure, it is possible to establish a just and democratic state.

On Wednesday night, she made the remarks at her political office in Giland Munno City, Manikganj Sadar Upazila, during a cake-cutting ceremony organized by central JASAS leader Mazharul Islam Payel to convey greetings and congratulations on her nomination.

Afroza Khanam Rita said, “Protecting the country’s sovereignty, ensuring the fundamental rights of the people, and strengthening the organization under the leadership of National Leader Tarique Rahman are the main goals of the BNP. The promise of rebuilding the state structure can only be fulfilled through the effective implementation of the 31-point reform plan.”

She further stated, “Under the visionary leadership of Tarique Rahman, the autocratic regime has already fallen due to the movement of the BNP and the people. Now, we must transform that achievement into sustainable development. True national reconstruction is possible only by upholding the ideals and patriotism of the martyred President Ziaur Rahman.”

Rita also added, “As part of fulfilling the people’s long-cherished 17-year expectation, the interim government has decided to hold the next national election in February 2026. However, a certain vested quarter is conspiring to sabotage the election under the pretext of a so-called ‘PR system’. For the welfare of the country, this evil force must be resisted through united efforts.”

Calling upon all party leaders and activists to play an active role in ensuring the victory of the Sheaf of Paddy, she also urged women to take on leadership roles in the political arena. She sought prayers for the recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and the good health and long life of Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

Among others present at the event were Advocate Azad Hossain Khan, Advocate A.F.M. Nur Taj Alam Bahar (PP), Satyen Kanta Pandit Bhajan, Nasir Uddin Ahmed Jadu, Golam Abedin Kaiser, Golam Kibria Saeed, Abdus Salam Badal, Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Habu, Asaduzzaman Khan Dolon, Joint Conveners of Jubo Dal Md. Masud Parvez, Md. Akter Hossain, Khondaker Tuhin, District Volunteer Party Convener Advocate Jinnah Khan, District Workers’ Party President Md. Abdul Kader, General Secretary Liton Mia, District Chhatra Dal President Abdul Khalek Shuvo, General Secretary Sirajur Rahman Khan Sojib, and leaders of various BNP-affiliated bodies.

It may be mentioned that Afroza Khanam Rita was nominated as the BNP candidate for Manikganj-3 constituency. The cake-cutting event was organized to extend heartfelt greetings and congratulations to BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, and the leadership of Manikganj District BNP for her nomination under the party’s symbol Sheaf of Paddy.
