Elections as per schedule essential for democracy: BML at its 119th founding anniversary meeting

Press release: Sheikh Hasina herself made the July uprising inevitable by losing trust in the people and embracing fascism. The thirteenth national election as per the schedule set is essential to break the political vacuum and all domestic and foreign conspiracies after the July Revolution and turn the uprising into democracy. Otherwise, an evil force more dangerous than fascism can engulf the country. On the one hand, the wounds of democracy created by 1/11, on the other hand, the devastated economy and chaotic administration left by the fascists. Along with this, mutual distrust and ambivalence among political parties have created a huge rift in national unity. In this situation, the rise of an undemocratic evil force again can permanently endanger the sovereignty and independence of the country. Today, December 30, 2025 at 3 pm, on the occasion of the 119th founding anniversary of the traditional political party Muslim League, the leaders made the above comments at a discussion meeting organized at the party head office under the chairmanship of Syed Abdul Hannan Noor, one of the members of the party`s standing committee. The leaders also said that the establishment of the Muslim League is undoubtedly an important chapter in the political history of the subcontinent. This political party, strong in the ideology of Muslim nationalism, not only united the Muslims who were disoriented due to the exploitation, deprivation and neglect of the British and Brahminical Hindus, but also divided India and established a separate state for Muslims through 41 years of continuous struggle. Based on this fundamental freedom of ours, known as the Azadi Movement, Bangladesh achieved complete independence in 1971 through the great Liberation War. In the historical context of the partition of Bengal, the All India Muslim League was established with the main objective of protecting the interests of the Muslims of India, through the efforts and proposals of the Nawab of Dhaka, Sir Khwaja Salimullah. There is no alternative to the Muslim national identity, the Muslim League political ideology, which was proven in 47 to confront the aggression of the neighboring country India. The Muslim League`s steadfast, uncompromising and consistent stand against Indian hegemony is being evaluated by the entire nation today as a shield of independence and sovereignty.

The meeting was also attended by party Secretary General Kazi Abul Khair, Standing Committee Member Akbar Hossain Pathan, Additional. General Secretaries Kazi A.A. Kafi and Maksudur Rahman, Organizing Secretary Khan Asad, Mahbubur Rahman Bhuiyan, Publicity Secretary Mamunur Rashid, Central Leader Rubel Bin Gaffar, Shafiqul Islam Javed, Khan Raihan. Shahjahan Kabir and others. On the occasion of the party`s 119th founding anniversary, party leaders visited the grave of Muslim League founder Nawab Salimullah at the Begumbazar Nawab Bari graveyard at 11:00 am. During this, deep sorrow was expressed over the death of former Prime Minister and uncompromising leader Begum Khaleda Zia and prayers were offered for the eternal peace of her soul.
