M A Mannan, Bhola: A mobile court conducted a drive at 4 brick kilns in Char Fashion Upazila of Bhola. During this, 4 brick kilns were fined for violating Section of the Brick Manufacturing and Kiln Establishment (Control) Act 2013 (Amended) 2019.

Assistant Director of the Bhola Department of Environment, Md. Tota Mia confirmed this information on Wednesday (January 14).

Tota Mia said that the drive was conducted from 11 am to 5 pm on Tuesday, January 13. At that time, Md. Ziaul Haque Akon, owner of M/s. Akond Brick Field of Uttar Char Manika Union of Dakshin Aicha Police Station under the upazila, was fined Tk 2 lakh in cash.  For the same crime, M/s Ratri Bricks owned by Saidul Islam Sohag of the area was fined 1 lakh 50 thousand taka and M/s Mizan Bricks owned by Md. Mizan Kazi was fined 1 lakh 50 thousand taka in cash.

In addition, on the same day, M/s Chamak Bricks owned by Md. Hasnain located in the Uttar Aicha area under Shashibhushan police station was fined 2 lakh taka.

At that time, the brick kilns were stopped by crushing the drums and chimneys of the brick kilns and extinguishing the fire and destroying the raw bricks with a fire service machine.

The mobile court, run by the joint initiative of the Bhola District Administration and the Department of Environment, was led by Assistant Commissioner and Executive Magistrate of the District Administrator`s Office Tajbiul Islam Iskem and Md. Abu Raihan. A team from the Bangladesh Navy, a police team and a team from Char Fashion Upazila Fire Service assisted the mobile court.

In response to a question, Tota Mia said, "Such campaigns will continue."
