The 5th Chinese Archaeological Congress opened on Thursday (October 15) in Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province. Organized under the theme "The History and Future of Archaeology," the congress features an opening ceremony, keynote addresses, 28 panel sessions, more than 570 academic presentations, and 22 public lectures. The event will run through October 17.

Since its inception in 2016, four sessions of the Chinese Archaeological Congress have been successfully held.
