Actor Khalekuzzaman passes away

Online Desk : Actor and freedom fighter Khalekuzzaman died on Tuesday morning. He was 72.

He breathed his last at 11am at his residence at Gulshan in the capital.

Ahsan Habib Nasim, President of the Actors’ Equity Bangladesh, confirmed the death to Jago News.

His namaz-e-janaza will be held at the mosque in Kurmitola at 5pm.

Khalekuzzaman was born at Santahar in Jashore. He completed his masters in Drama and Fine Arts from Chittagong University.

In 1975, he was enlisted as an actor in Bangladesh Television (BTV). He first acted in the drama “Sarpabhrome Rojju” produced by Nawajesh Ali Khan. He got appreciation for acting in many dramas including Toma, Boro Bari, Somoy Asomoy and Suborno Somoy.

He also acted in some movies. His debut film was with Nayak Raj Razzak and Kabari.
