A court in Dhaka on Thursday placed former prime minister`s adviser Salman F Rahman and former law minister Anisul Huq on a five-day remand in a case filed under Foreign Exchange Regulation Act.
Earlier this morning, they were produced before Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court. Then investigation officer SI Md Rashidul Hasan sought seven-day remand for questioning after showing them arrested in the case.
Meanwhile, the defence submitted an application, seeking bail along with cancellation of the remand prayer.
After hearing from both sides, Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Arifur Rahman granted five-day remand rejecting bail prayer.
On September 13, New Market Police Station SI Md Sajib Miah filed the case against them with Kotwali Police Station.
On August 13, they were arrested from Sadarghat as they were fleeing the capital on waterways. Police recovered foreign currencies from them.
