Ex-Jatrabari OC Abul Hasan on 7-day remand

A court in Dhaka on Thursday placed former Jatrabari Police Station OC Abul Hasan on a seven-day remand in a case filed over the death of student Sakib Hasan at Jatrabari area in the capital on July 18 during the Quota Reform Movement.

Earlier in the morning, investigation officer Jatrabari Police Station SI Mojahidul Islam produced Abul Hasan before the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Md Arifur Rahman seeking 10-day remand.

Later, the magistrate granted seven-day remand for questioning.

On September 17, Abul Hasan was arrested in Teknaf.

On September 2, Abu Bakr, a ward level leader of Jatiya Sramik Dal, filed the case with Jatrabari Police Station against former prime minister Sheikh Hasina and 441 others. Jatrabari Police Station`s former OC Abul Hasan among the accused
