Kamrul Hasan: S.A. Jinnah Kabir, member of the BNP Central Executive Committee and nomination aspirant for the Manikganj–1 constituency, has described the 31-point reform plan announced by BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman as a “national roadmap for reconstruction.” He stated that implementing these 31 points is “the most effective path to establishing a developed, prosperous, and justice-oriented state by restoring democracy, restructuring state institutions, and safeguarding the ideals of independence.”
He made the remarks on Friday (14 November) evening while distributing leaflets and conducting public outreach at various markets in Dhamshwar Union of Daulatpur Upazila as part of the campaign to promote the 31-point reform agenda. During the campaign and street meetings, he engaged directly with local voters, supporters, and residents, elaborating on party unity, democratic commitments, and future political responsibilities.
Speaking to the gathering, S.A. Jinnah Kabir said: “BNP’s core objective is to protect national sovereignty, establish the fundamental rights of the people, and strengthen the organization under the leadership of Tarique Rahman. Restructuring the state is only possible through effective implementation of the 31 points.”
He claimed that Bangladesh has been freed from authoritarian rule through the visionary leadership of Tarique Rahman and the people’s mass movement.
“The challenge now,” he added, “is to transform the achievements of this movement into sustainable development and political stability.”
Regarding the forthcoming political timeline, Jinnah Kabir said,
“After 17 years of the people’s struggle and expectations, the interim government has decided to hold the national election in February 2026. But a certain quarter is conspiring to sabotage the election and is creating unrest across the country. They are in no way beneficial for the nation.”
Calling for unified public opinion, he said, “A nationwide democratic awakening is the only way to protect national interests from these destructive forces.”
Jinnah Kabir also urged BNP leaders, activists, and supporters to play an active role in ensuring the victory of the ‘sheaf of paddy’ (BNP’s election symbol). He further emphasized greater participation of women in politics, noting,
“National development can never be complete without women’s leadership.”
At the event, he prayed for the quick recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, and for the good health and long life of Tarique Rahman. He also sought prayers for the continued development and prosperity of the country.
