Toddler drowns in Jhenaidah river

A toddler died after drowning in the Kumar River at Shailkupa municipality in Jhenaidah district on Saturday morning.

The deceased was identified as Abram, son of Azad Mridha of Jhaudia village in the upazila.

According to locals, the boy fell into the river while picking flowers on the riverbank at around 11 AM. After not seeing the child for a long time, family members started searching for him.


Later, family members found the child’s body floating on the river and recovered it.

Shailkupa Police Station officer-in-charge (OC) Masum Khan confirmed the incident.
