Conway carnage takes NZ to 210
  Date : 26-04-2024

Online Desk: Devon Conway, player-of-the-series of the three-match ODIs, stroked a brilliant unbeaten 92 off 52 balls as New Zealand posted 210 for 3 in the first T20I against Bangladesh in Hamilton on Sunday.

The left-hander hit three sixes and 10 fours in his whirlwind knock as the hosts finished with a flurry of boundaries by taking 20 runs off the last over.

Martin Guptill (35), Will Young (53) and Glenn Phillips laid important hands to take the total to a massive one after Nasum Ahmed had bowled out debutant Finn Allen in the first over of the match.

Nasum`s two and Mahedi Hasan`s one were the only success for the Bangladesh bowlers.

Earlier, New Zealand won the toss for the fourth time in the series and chose to bat first.

The visitors, before losing the toss, had a big blow as veteran wicketkeeper-batsman Mushfiqur Rahim was ruled out for the match due to a shoulder injury. Left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed and left-arm pacer Shoriful Islam made their debuts.

New Zealand, too, handed two debuts today. Finn Allen and Will Young played for the first time for the Black Caps.
