Liakut, Rajshahi Bureau: In order to keep the Rajshahi metropolitan area free from drug smuggling and vajal, the operation is continuing under the direction of the Hon`ble Commissioner of Police of RMP Police.

A special team of Inspector General of Police Md. Abul Kalam Azad under the overall supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Detective Police Md. Arefin Jewel and Assistant Commissioner of Police (DB) Md. Rakibul Islam visited Rajshahi last night.

In Sagarpara Raw Market area, Md. Shawkat Ali (38) was able to arrest Shawkat along with fake cosmetics wrapped by a local and foreign company on the ground floor of his rented house Habib Manzil. Whose market value is about Tk. 451450.

The arrested accused Md. Shawkat Ali is the son of Awal Ali Khandaker of Koyra village of Ullapara police station in Sirajganj district. He has been supplying various beauty parlors, gents` parlors, salons and cosmetics shops in Rajshahi metropolis and outside. The use of these fake cosmetics can lead to various long-term skin diseases and even cancer in the users. Further legal action in this regard is in process.
