4 UPDF members detained with weapons in Rangamati during army operation

Press Release: On the basis of intelligence information, an army patrol team conducted an operation in Kattali area of ​​Langadu upazila under Rangamati district and arrested four subscription collector of the UPDF (Prasit) party at around 3:00 pm on Saturday.

The arrested terrorists are Suren Chakma (36 years), Annasang Chakma (45 years), Anil Chakma (19 years) and Simon Chakma (40 years).

1 AK-22 rifle, 77 rounds of ammunition, 1 weapon magazine, 1 walkie-talkie set, 1 solar charger, collection receipt book, 4 mobile sets, 1 wrist watch, 1 fake ID Cards, banners with anti-state slogans, Tk. 63,592 in cash and other equipment were recovered from the detainees.

The detainees had been creating unrest in various upazilas of Rangamati for a long time through terrorist activities and extortion. All these terrorists are known to be active members of the armed wing of the UPDF. Legal action is being taken against the detainees.

The army will continue such operations to keep the security situation in the Chittagong Hill Tracts stable.
