ICT minister Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP inaugurated North South University Startups Next Incubation Program

Press Release: The first private university and the number one ranked private university of Bangladesh, North South University (NSU) launches its first startup incubator North South University Startups Next (NSUSN) to create next generation of startup founders in Bangladesh. Future leaders of the country will have support for their startups with the guided mentorship, networking, and early stage financial opportunities to grow into scalable businesses.

Honorable State Minister, Ministry of Information & Communication Technology, Government of The People’s Republic of Bangladesh, Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP inaugurated North South University Startups Next Incubation Program on 29 June 2020. Freedom Fighter Lion Mr. Benajir Ahmed, Chairman, Board of Trustees, North South University was present as the Special Guest during the program. Prof. Atiqul Islam, Vice-Chancellor, NSU chaired the ceremony.

Mr. Zunaid Ahmed Palak MP saidthat he is happy with the timely initiative of North South University to establish "North South University Startups Next". It is a university incubation program that encourages the younger generation to become entrepreneurs. He also praised the North South University authorities for encouraging students to take part in such activities, citing the names of some of the most successful entrepreneurs among the students of North South University.

Mr. Benajir Ahmed said, "We are always working for providing international quality education. In continuation, I think this type of initiatives will help young entrepreneurs move forward and help the country`s economy." He also lauded the government`s adoption of 100 startup plans to help young entrepreneurs.

Applications to the NSUSN are now open, and anyone interested in building a startup can apply online at www.nsustartupsnext.com by 8 August 2020.

 NSUSN will provide high-potential entrepreneurs and teams with the support network and structured growth process needed to build something that matters. Many of the country`s top founders, experts, advisors, and investors will mentor the new entrepreneurs in the coming cohort of NSUSN. 

Entrepreneurs are the key to build a better tomorrow for any country, and now, more than ever, they are needed the most. NSU is already home to the founders of successful startups like Pathao, Chaldal, iFarmer, Trucklagbe and many more who are thriving both locally and globally. NSUSN will surely give the country more entrepreneurs who can create jobs across a range of industries and contribute to the economy and our society.
