Rohingya youth hacked to death in Cox’s Bazar

A Rohingya youth was hacked to death by the unidentified terrorists at Ukhiya in Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday evening.

The incident occurred beside the mosque of ‘D’ block in Rohingya camp-2.

The deceased Syedul Amin, 45, son of Ashraf Ali.

Md Shamim Hossain, Officer-in-charge of Ukhiya Police Station, said the unidentified terrorists hacked Syedul indiscriminately with sharp weapons around 7pm and fled the scene. He died on the spot due to excessive bleeding. The body was rescued and sent to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy.

The OC said it is being primarily suspected that the murder incident occurred over establishing supremacy in the camp. The drive is underway to arrest those involved in the incident.
