All educational institutions reopen Sunday
  Date : 18-05-2024

Online Report : Academic activities at all educational institutions, including primary and secondary levels, will reopen on Sunday as the temperature in the country has become tolerable to some extent.

Public Relations Officer of the Education Ministry MA Khayer disclosed this information in a notification at 6:15 pm on Saturday.

As the notification, daily school assemblies will be suspended to avoid prolonged exposure to the heat and students will refrain from taking part in any outdoor activities other than classes.

Earlier, the government had announced to close all the educational institutions in different districts across the country due to the prolonged hot weather following the Eid holidays.

Later, the institutions were reopened for limited hours from 8am to 11.30am. For schools operating in two shifts, the first shift was run from 8am to 9:30am and the second from 9:45 am to 11:30 am.

On April 29, the High Court ordered the government to close primary and secondary schools, and madrasas till May 2 amid the ongoing heatwave.

On the same day, the educational ministry had declared the institutions in different regions of the country to remain closed due to the intense heat wave.
