Police urges all to show respect to law
  Date : 18-07-2024

Bangladesh Police has called upon everyone to help maintain a peaceful environment across the country amid the ongoing quota reform movement by respecting laws and refraining from violent activities that worsen the law and order situation.

“In the prevailing situation, Bangladesh Police requests everyone to help maintain a peaceful environment by respecting the laws and refraining from violent activities that deteriorated the law and order situation,” said a press release here this evening.

The release said that the ongoing anti-quota movement has led to clashes in different parts of the country while the police handled the situation with patience and tolerance.

Police professionally perform its duty to bring any situation under control if law and order situation seriously deteriorates in anywhere and the safety of students and people as well as public properties fall at any stake, it added.

It is not expected that people’s safety will be hampered and public properties will be destroyed by creating an anarchic situation in the name of realizing any demand, the release said.

Different rumours and provocative statements are being spread through social media with the malicious intent of deteriorating law and order situation over the ongoing quota reform movement, it said.

The release urged all not to respond to these baseless and ill-motivated rumours.

“Bangladesh Police is determined to perform its duty with professionalism to ensure the safety of lives and protect public properties and law and order situation,” the release said. BSS
