Intercity train to resume operation Aug 15
  Date : 10-09-2024

Bangladesh Railway will resume intercity train services from Thursday (August 15).

The tickets of the intercity train will be available from 5PM on Monday.

Nahid Hasan Khan, director (public relations) of Bangladesh Railway, informed this through a press release on Sunday.

Meanwhile, freight train services will resume operation on Monday, while mail, express, local and commuter trains will start services on Tuesday (August 13), it said.

The operation of Parabat Express and Jamalpur Express trains, however, will remain suspended, the release added.
The train services across the country had been suspended since July 18 due to safety concerns amid violence and sabotage centring the Quota Reform Movement.

However, from July 25, oil-carrying and essential freight trains continued under special arrangements. On August 3, Bangladesh Railway once again halted all train services across the country.
