  Date : 12-12-2024

Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has imposed travel restrictions on former five lawmakers and their wives and children, the ACC said in a press release in Dhaka on Thursday (December 12).

The decision was taken at the first meeting of the new commission held with its chairman Dr Mohammad Abdul Momen in the chair.

The five former MPs are Alauddin Ahmed Chowdhury Nasim of Feni-1, Noor Nabi Chowdhury Shaon of Bhola-3, Abu Zahir of Hobiganj-3, HM Ibrahim of Noakhali-1 and Noor Uddin Chowdhury Nayan of Lakkhipur-2.

There are allegations that they have accumulated huge amount of wealth and property at home and abroad through money laundering, misuse of power and resorting to irregularities in projects.
