  Date : 11-01-2025

Online Desk: The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has reiterated its steadfast support for the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for freedom and self-determination, emphasizing the resolution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with relevant UN and OIC resolutions.
According to Kashmir Media Service, during a meeting with Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Islamabad, OIC Secretary General Hissein Brahim Taha reaffirmed the Muslim bloc’s principled stance on Kashmir. He also briefed the Pakistani premier on the OIC’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to highlight the plight of Kashmiris and advocate for a just resolution to the dispute.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed profound gratitude for the OIC’s unwavering and principled support for the Kashmir cause.
In his discussions with the OIC Secretary General, PM Shehbaz Sharif strongly condemned Israel’s genocidal campaign against Palestinians. He called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza, unhindered humanitarian access to the besieged population, and global accountability for Israel’s war crimes and crimes against humanity.
Hissein Brahim Taha echoed these concerns, agreeing that the OIC must continue to pressure the international community for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza. He emphasized that resolving the Palestinian issue based on the two-state solution was essential for lasting peace and stability in the region.
The two leaders also discussed regional and global issues of mutual concern, including the alarming rise in Islamophobia. PM Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to advancing the OIC’s shared priorities and objectives, while striving to make the organization a more effective collective voice for the Muslim world.
