National Security Adviser meets US Deputy Secretary of State
  Date : 01-07-2025

National Security Adviser Dr Khalilur Rahman met with US Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau on Wednesday at the State Department in Washington, DC.

The two sides discussed a range of key issues, including the ongoing Rohingya crisis, bilateral tariff negotiations, recent developments in South Asia, and the democratic transition in Bangladesh, according to an official message received Thursday.

Deputy Secretary Landau praised the leadership of Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus during what he called a critical moment for Bangladesh, and reaffirmed the United States’ ongoing support for the country.

In a separate meeting, Dr Rahman also held talks with Assistant US Trade Representative Brendan Lynch. The discussions focused on reciprocal tariff agreements between Bangladesh and the United States, which both sides described as productive.
