Middle East: Four Countries Close Airspace, All Flights from Dhaka Canceled
  Date : 25-06-2025

International Desk : Following an attack targeting a US base in Qatar and in anticipation of potential Iranian attacks on other US bases in various countries, the airspace of four Middle Eastern nations has been temporarily closed. As a result, all commercial flights from Dhaka bound for Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain have been canceled.

On Monday (June 23), the civil aviation authorities and foreign ministries of these four Middle Eastern countries issued a joint statement announcing that both incoming and outgoing flights to and from these nations would be suspended until further notice. They stated that this measure was taken to ensure the safety and security of citizens, residents, and travelers.

Airspace Closure Impacts Dhaka Flights
This decision has directly impacted passengers traveling from Bangladesh to Doha, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Kuwait, and Bahrain. In a statement released late Monday night, Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport authorities confirmed the cancellation of all flights from Dhaka.

Several airlines operating from Dhaka, including Biman Bangladesh Airlines, US-Bangla Airlines, Qatar Airways, Emirates, Flydubai, Kuwait Airways, and Gulf Air, have announced their flight cancellations.

Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport has urged passengers to contact their respective airlines to make alternative arrangements before their scheduled travel. Authorities also stated that passengers would be informed as soon as updates are received from the affected countries.
