JaPa expels Anisul, Hawlader, Chunnu for breaching discipline
  Date : 12-07-2025

Jatiya Party has removed three of its senior leaders — Barrister Anisul Islam Mahmud, ABM Ruhul Amin Hawlader, and Md Mujibul Haque Chunnu — from all party positions, including their primary membership, citing violations of party discipline.

The decision was confirmed in a press release signed by Jatiya Party Office Secretary Mahmud Alam on Monday (July 7).

According to the statement, the move follows complaints raised during a views-exchange meeting held on June 25 with district and metropolitan-level party leaders. During that meeting, demands were made for disciplinary action against the three top leaders.

Later, on June 28, the party`s presidium meeting decided to relieve the trio from their respective posts, including that of senior co-chairman (Anisul), co-chairman (Hawlader), and secretary general (Chunnu), for alleged breaches of party discipline.

In accordance with the party constitution, Jatiya Party Chairman GM Quader exercised his authority to officially remove them from all positions, including primary membership. The directive has already come into effect, the statement added.

The internal reshuffle comes amid growing tensions within the party over leadership and organizational discipline.
