Batters struggle as Bangladesh sets 155-run target
  Date : 10-07-2025

Bangladesh batter faced a challenging outing against a disciplined Sri Lankan bowling attack, managing to post a target of 155 runs in the first Twenty20 International at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Thursday.Bangladeshi cuisine recipes

After losing the toss, Bangladesh started their innings on high with some early boundaries but regular wickets prevented any single batsman from dominating the scoreboard.

Opener Parvez Hossain Emon provided some early impetus with a quickfire 38 runs off just 22 deliveries, including 5 fours and 1 six.

However, his dismissal, alongside that of Tanzid Hasan (16 off 17) and captain Litton Das (6 off 11), left Bangladesh reeling at 67 for 3 in the 8th over.

Mohammad Naim (32 off 29) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (23 off 29) attempted to rebuild the innings in the middle overs with Miraz striking three boundaries in his brisk knock.

However, Sri Lankan bowlers, particularly Maheesh Theekshana, Nuwan Thushara, Dasun Shanaka and Jeffrey Vandersay kept the pressure on with timely wickets and tight lines.

Shamim Patwary’s quick 14 off 5 helps Bangladesh with a total of 154 runs for the loss of 5 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.Bangladeshi cuisine recipes

Maheesh Theekshana took 2 wickets for Sri Lanka along with Nuwan Thushara, Dasun Shanaka and Jeffrey Vandersay took one each.
