BNP`s 47th founding anniversary today
  Date : 01-09-2025

The 47th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) is today. The party is celebrating the anniversary with a series of events planned over a seven-day period to mark the occasion.

Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman founded BNP on this day in 1978. He was the founding chairman of the party.

To commemorate the anniversary, BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman issued a message highlighting the party’s enduring commitment to the people of Bangladesh. He stated that the BNP’s core mission is to alleviate public suffering by ensuring citizens’ rights, protecting the country’s independence and sovereignty, and restoring multi-party democracy.

He congratulated party leaders, activists, supporters, and the general public on the anniversary, calling it a day of “joy, enthusiasm, and inspiration” for the people of Bangladesh.

Tarique Rahman also reiterated that the BNP was founded to unite the nation under nationalist ideals, with a vision of establishing a sovereign, democratic Bangladesh.

As part of the celebration, a 16-member national committee has been formed to oversee the anniversary events. BNP Standing Committee member Nazrul Islam Khan is serving as the convener, while Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed is the member secretary.

The week-long programme is expected to include rallies, discussions, and cultural events aimed at energising the party’s base and reflecting on its political journey.
