Three individuals were killed after being hit by a microbus at Jhenaigati upazila in Sherpur district on Sunday evening.

The deceased were identified as Sakibul Hasan, 10, son of Golap Hossain, Zakaria, 12, son of Zahurul Islam and Faizul Amin, 11, son of Saibali. They all are residents of Rangtia village in the upazila and students of a local madrasah.

According to locals, the trio were standing by the roadside at Rangtia intersection on the Rangtia-Madhutila road when a speeding microbus coming from behind hit them which caused them to sustain severe injuries at 6 PM on Sunday.

Later, locals rescued them and took to Jhenaigati Upazila Health Complex and later referred them to Sherpur General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared two of them dead.

The other was transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital where he also succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment.
